The Disease called Perfection

Wow. Go read my 9/27 entry again... or at least the first paragraph of it and then go read THIS. Single Dad Laughing says it beautifully. I'm speechless (for once). ;)

princess for a day!

Ellie was in a very good friends wedding this past weekend. She had a BLAST! Here are some pics of our day...

Getting her hair done like the big girls :).

I need to find some hot rollers because this looked so easy... next time I will not pay salon prices! I can do it myself. She LOVED her curls.

All done!

When she saw all the other girls getting their makeup done she begged me for some...

How precious! If I may say so myself. She is breathtaking :).

She danced her butt off...

where did september go?

I have changed my mind about a new blog. At this point I am not going to feel ashamed for writing on my blog. I will not be censored on my blog. I will continue to write as I wish. Reality sucks sometimes and I am not going to be fake and pretend everything is peachy, so everyone around me thinks my life and family are perfect. Because let's be honest, who's life and family are perfect? I am real. Take it or leave it.

I have been busy, busy with work, with what I feel like lately is meeting after meeting about change and more change (which is a good thing), Ellie in a wedding, my MIL visiting, my grandpa passing away, a soaking wet basement after 10 inches of rain in 2 days, continuing to unpack, and on and on...

September just blew by with barely a second thought. We had plans every single weekend. I am so looking forward to October. So far no plans. I can't wait!

I have lots of fun flower girl pictures to share! Stay tuned!! :)

private posting

I am getting around to that private blog thing guys, so those who left comments or emailed I haven't forgotten about you... will hopefully get around to it this weekend. I am thinking about starting a new private blog rather than using my old one. I will email/invite you all when it is up.

Does blogger offer password protected entries or do I need to switch to word press? I'd rather just manage one blog and do private entries than have 2 separate blogs.

Please leave a comment or email me if you know anything about word press vs. blogger.

Ellie's 1st Day of School!

How did she all the sudden become 4? My beautiful baby started school today. 2 days a week but still school. Still hard on me :). When I said I was going to leave she was like, "ok mom! bye!" I was like, "ummmm, ok, bye then." :(

On our walk to drop her off...

private blog

Am re-visiting my private blog for some updates. If you are included there and have forgotten the site please let me know. If you are new and want the address please ask!!

how did that year go so fast?

We've had a busy, busy weekend. (Or last few weeks for that matter.) My sister and I had a garage sale Friday and Saturday. Call me stupid but I also thought I could muster up the energy to have Cooper's 1st birthday party on Saturday afternoon after the garage sale. Ugh. I will say it all worked out but I will never do that again. I was totally overwhelmed! Thank goodness my sister was here to help me and Greg out or we would have gone crazy. Katie (our babysitter from vacation) also came down to help with the kids while we finished up the garage sale, ran to the store for groceries, showered and finished cleaning up the house before the party.

The garage sale was very successful. I'd hoped to earn enough $ to buy a new kitchen table and chairs. And I did and then some! IKEA here I come!

Coop's birthday was fun but totally overwhelming for him. His first gift to open and he's already crying :(.

Grandma helping him out...

Still just taking it all in...

Now he's getting more interested in playing...
Cake time!

Ellie would barely get her fingers dirty with frosting when she turned 1 so it was fun to see him dig right in! :)
In the midst of all this business and celebration of Cooper's life and 1st year we are dealing with the sad news that my grandpa is not doing well. He is having some problems and has decided that he does not want any more invasive things done to him. He hasn't been able to eat in almost a week. He's just ready to be done. That is a hard sentence to type. "He's ready to be done." Makes me tear up. I find comfort in thinking that he'll get to go hang with Gram and eat her yummy molasses cookies and boiled dinner again.

**Only out of respect for my mom (since she asked) I am removing this paragraph from my blog.**
