We've had a busy, busy weekend. (Or last few weeks for that matter.) My sister and I had a garage sale Friday and Saturday. Call me stupid but I also thought I could muster up the energy to have Cooper's 1st birthday party on Saturday afternoon after the garage sale. Ugh. I will say it all worked out but I will never do that again. I was totally overwhelmed! Thank goodness my sister was here to help me and Greg out or we would have gone crazy. Katie (our babysitter from vacation) also came down to help with the kids while we finished up the garage sale, ran to the store for groceries, showered and finished cleaning up the house before the party.
The garage sale was very successful. I'd hoped to earn enough $ to buy a new kitchen table and chairs. And I did and then some!
IKEA here I come!
Coop's birthday was fun but totally overwhelming for him. His first gift to open and he's already crying :(.

Grandma helping him out...

Still just taking it all in...

Now he's getting more interested in playing...

Cake time!

Ellie would barely get her fingers dirty with frosting when she turned 1 so it was fun to see him dig right in! :)

In the midst of all this business and celebration of Cooper's life and 1st year we are dealing with the sad news that my grandpa is not doing well. He is having some problems and has decided that he does not want any more invasive things done to him. He hasn't been able to eat in almost a week. He's just ready to be done. That is a hard sentence to type. "He's ready to be done." Makes me tear up. I find comfort in thinking that he'll get to go hang with Gram and eat her yummy molasses cookies and boiled dinner again.
**Only out of respect for my mom (since she asked) I am removing this paragraph from my blog.**
