picture post

My lone picture from our lovely Memorial Day weekend... dad and Ellie on the playground.
Tonight after bath time Ellie got a hold of my two new nursing bras... with no egging on this is what she did... put it on her head!  OMG... did Greg and I laugh our arses off.

I can't tell you how many of these lovely things have been picked for me so far this summer! :)
This little guy (do you see him in there) was in our garden the other day and Greg spotted him!
My departure from work really stings a bit.  You would think that most people you know or worked with would wish you luck on your last day... whether they meant it or not, just to be polite... a few people who should have didn't... it leaves a very bad taste in my mouth.  It truly shows a persons true colors. I'm a bit disgusted. I'm glad to be out of there.

my last day...

The last day…..     :( for us...      :) for you….

This is what one of the ladies in my building sent me today at work... I thought it was funny and so true!

Tomorrow is my VERY LAST DAY IN CHILD SUPPORT!!!!!!!!!!!

I am very happy to say the least.  I will be so happy to never again hear someone bitching about being ordered to provide for their child or having someone complain about not receiving a payment yet.  Ugh.  I hope to never be involved in child support again in my life in any way, shape or form.

I need to go to bed!  Goodnight!

I just caught up on all the blogs on my roll... whew... that was exhausting but now I know what's going on in all your lives again!  I've been out of the loop for way to long!  Now I'm going to go catch up on Perez Hilton... but first...

We have an itty bitty tv in Ellie's room that plays vhs tapes.  We only allow her to watch her movies during play time and one as she's falling asleep for quiet time (what we call nap time). The other day it stopped working and Alice in Wonderland was stuck in the VCR.  This morning I went upstairs with her when she wanted to go play in her room and I sat down to try and dig this movie out of the VCR.  I finally wriggled it out with my pinkies and tried to put another movie in thinking it was the tape that had done it.  Well Lion King did the same thing.  I pulled it out and flipped the lid open to look inside... this is what I found in her VCR...

The little bugger put pencils in her VCR.  It still doesn't work even though I pulled them out.  I really need to bring a flashlight up there and find out what the heck, if anything, is also in there!

happy 3rd birthday my girl

Ellie turned 3 on May 13th. On the Friday before we had a princess birthday party for her at my parents house. We all had a good time and stayed up to late... including Ellie. Here are some pics!

Doesn't she look thrilled that I have a camera and was hoping for at least one good picture!

Seriously... does she look like she just turned 3 last week?  Or 13?  It's like a punch in the gut. How did she get so big so fast?

The Dets

Ok, I promise never to do a one line post anymore.  I would have hated to have been left hanging like that!

As most of you know I didn't have much love for my job.  I've been there almost 2.5 years and have probably spent 2.1 of those years looking for a new job.  I had no luck.  Until this week.

Here's what my week looked like:

Tuesday - interview at the new place.  Had a great interview with a young guy, a few years younger than me, he made me feel totally comfortable and was so easy to talk to.  I answered his questions very easily and in our talking we realized we both went to the same college.  Score!

Tuesday afternoon - I received a phone call from the employer asking me to come back on Thursday for a 2nd interview.  Go me!

Thursday - went in for my 2nd interview.  Interviewed with the lead person in the job I hoped to get and the main pharmacist.  They both asked me questions and I asked them questions. After that they told me they were going to take me to HR so I could talk to them.  When I sat down in the office the HR girl offered me the job!!  I was shocked.  I didn't accept at that point, but went ahead and completed the drug test and told her I'd speak to my husband about it and call her the next day.

I came home that night and Greg and I decided that I would take the job and I'd give my notice at work the next day.

Friday - I was so calm and collected on my way to work.  Then I got there and started freaking out.  Were we making the right decision?  Could we afford for me to only work part time?  Was it stupid to leave a full time job with a consistent pay check?  Would Ellie be sad to not attend her daycare anymore?  We were living fairly financially comfortable... some months ended up being tighter than others... but we were usually able to go to Caribou for a coffee whenever we wanted, Greg could pick up a case of beer when he wanted, we could eat out once in a while, etc. If I quit all this would change.  I emailed Greg and told him I NEEDED him to call or email me asap.  I waited and waited and continued to freak out even more.  Just when I was about to cry as I was stressing with uncertainty my mom called me.  Bless her.  She said all the right words. She somehow just knew what I needed to hear.

After I hung up with her I immediately called the new place and accepted the position.

I waited until the afternoon to give my notice.  It went as well as can be expected in an office of overworked employees where there is not enough staff and way to much work.

Now today I feel so good.  I'm still nervous about the financial future but we will make due and make cuts where/when needed.  But the best thing about all this?  I get to work part time, approx 5-6 evenings a pay period (on Greg's days off) AND STAY HOME WITH MY KIDS!!!!  I am SO, SO happy about that. I plan to enroll Ellie in a 2 morning a week local preschool, plan fun play dates with my other SAHM friends and just have a real fun summer with Ellie before she becomes a big sister.

The best thing about this job is that they wanted me.  They thought I was the best for the job. That rocks.  That is a great feeling.  They are fun, flexible and family friendly.  I gave them MY schedule and that is when I will work!  The days and hours I choose!  And to top it off I am hugely pregnant!  Pinch me now because it all seems to good to be true!

Guess what I did today?

I quit my job.

alive and sort of well...

So hi.  I'm here.  Still going.  Still pregnant.  Ridiculously tired every damn evening.  So tired I have been on this computer only a handful of times in the last few weeks.

I have tons to talk about... Ellie's 3rd birthday, mother's day, a new job, pregnancy stuff, boy names, why the hell I'm not gaining weight (lost 2 more lbs), getting in trouble at work (!) who me? yeah I sure did, etc, etc.  Most likely there will be a good private post or two in there if you are so privileged.  :)

I have tons of reading to do also... I visited Marni's site the other day and want to send her my congrats because she is PG too!!  Congrats girl!!

So hi guys, I'm here... tired as can be after working at a damn stressful job everyday... but here. I'm going to try and do some reading and relaxing in bed tonight and will get to some posting by the end of this week or this weekend.

Hope you are having a good week!!
