Lazy days of vacation...

We go home tomorrow already! :( It seems like we've been here forever, yet it has gone so fast! BTW, the cats are ok and no water in the basement... THANK YOU Jess!!! More about vacation.... on Wednesday a.m. the boys all went golfing. The girls hung out at the cabin and FINALLY the sun broke through and we got to go to the beach for a bit. E is such a girl and doesn't like to get dirty... so when she was in the shallowest part of the water and would fall over she'd get wet sand on her hands, she'd get back up and look at her hands a kinda freak out a bit. It was quite funny, she didn't think so though! She just wanted to stand on the towel between my legs and watch the waves. A family of ducks did swim by and she made quacking noises at them. That was pretty funny. Here's a couple pics... check out that bikini!!

Thursday was another rainy day... we decided to go into town again to shop around and have lunch. Went to McD's, real original I know, but w/ E it is so easy to just give her a cheeseburger minus the top bun and some fries and she's happy. We bought some fudge for the girl watching our cats, a sweatshirt for E, and a pair of Robeez for E (these are the best shoes ever made for kids) here they are...

Thursday evening we decided to meet up w/ a couple that G knows from growing up, up here. We met at the bar/restaurant here at the resort. We thought we'd have some dessert and drinks and chit chat. It was a nice time, we hadn't seen them in quite a while and it was good to sit around and talk minus E. After a couple drinks they needed to head home since they had to work the next day. My sis and her hubby ended up showing up shortly before G's friends left so we decided to stay at the bar for a while longer. So... we are sitting at the bar and "R" the bartender told us there was a 30 person party coming in for a birthday... and that they had hired a dj. He said it just gets completely crazy when they have a dj. We drank and drank and drank... now I rarely drink more than 2 drinks at one sitting... since I've gotten older my body just can no longer handle what it could at 22! The party of 30 came in and it turned out to be a 60th b-day party. A 60th b-day party like I'd never seen before!! She had on a huge crown and was wearing a red velvet cape w/ feathery boa'd edges. It was hilarious. She was also beautiful for 60 years old! Someone had also made her a magic wand out of a wooden spoon. It was rolled in glitter and had a few large gems glued onto it. It was cute. The b-day's girl, I'll call her J, had her entire family there... 3 sons and their wives and many, many friends. They were a fun crowd... things begin to get a little wild from this point on. Mind you I am drinking appletini's... probably on my 3rd by the time they rolled in. A dj never showed, but even better... was a woman setting up for karoke! We kept on drinking and watching everyone dance and sing... laughing and having a great time... we danced our asses off w/ a group of people who's ages ranged from 25 to probably 70... even did the polka... won't go there... After some coaxing we got G and S (brother-in-law) up to sing Toby Keith's "Not as good as I once was"... and after much more coaxing and drinks Kt and I were up there singing "Buttercup" and "These Boots are Made for Walking". We sounded horrible I'm sure. I apologize to anyone that had to hear us.

What really did us in was "Das Boot" It is a ginormous glass boot (actually was the size of a women's size 7, and would reach up to the middle of her calf!) It was full of beer and was continuously being passed around the bar... for all to share and drink from. Kinda gross when you think about it, but no one seemed to mind at 12:30 a.m. when we were all already half (or 3/4's of the way) in the bag! I really can't believe it was never dropped.

It was the best night of the week so far... and sadly we forgot our camera so I have no pics to show you!!! My sis did have hers so when she gets them put onto a cd for me I will post them. They are going to be goooooood! We had a blast and finally had to leave cuz the boys were so wasted they kept asking us to leave... hee, hee... we outlasted them for once! We got back to the cabin at 1:15 and just crashed. Later I found out that S puked in the bathroom at the bar and G puked in our bathroom in the cabin (luckily we have a 3 bedroom/3 bathroom, so no one else had to share in it!) and he told me the next day he woke up at 3 a.m. in his underwear on the bathroom floor. To say the least we were all COMPLETELY hungover the next morning... and it was our day to go hike at Copper Falls... yeah, I said hike... the plan was to leave by 9.

10:30 rolled around and we finally were on the road to Copper Falls. After a shower, a few advil, an attempt at puking (there was seriously nothing left in my tummy to puke, not sure where it went) and a good toothbrushing we were off. It was a HARD morning. The room was still spinning as I got dressed... I had to sit down to blow dry my hair!!!! God I felt like shit.

The 40 minute drive to Copper Falls was VERY pleasent. Lots of twists, turns and bumps. I almost had to have G pull over a few times so I could you know what. We got to Copper Falls and something just washed over me. I felt refreshed and energized and enjoyed the hike thouroughly. It was a beautiful day. Nice and cool. Amazing surroundings. I think it is impossible to be in a bad mood there. Here's a few good pics from the hike...

After returning from the hike we all took much needed naps. Then enjoyed our last meal together on vacation w/ a fish fry at the resorts restaurant. (While at dinner our waitress made a comment to G about his debut singing Toby Keith, hee, hee... and then the resort owner D saw us at the table and came over to see how we were all feeling... he said he felt our pain... he was still at the bar when we left... I'm sure he'd had a few swigs from "das boot" also.) My parents were leaving a day early to attend a family friends wedding... we came back to the cabin after dinner and watched the movie Sideways... a great movie. I recommend everyone see it, if you don't mind lots of the F word, sex and wine.

Today G, E and I ran into town again, to pick up a few last things before we go home tomorrow. We took E to the beach again when we got back and she just refused to touch the sand. She just doesn't much like the feel of it on her feet or her hands. She would sit on the corner of our blanket and play w/ a shovel... but if any touched her legs or feet she would try to brush it off right away. Again... a few more pics...

This is the face she made when we just plopped her down in the sand... I hope she gets used to it cuz I LOVE the beach! (I guess her shirt kinda gives away where we are...)

So tomorrow a.m. we go home... not looking forward to going back to work, but being home and getting E back on her schedule will be good for us all! Am already looking forward to next year...

I think this has been the longest entry ever... I have got to go start getting our hamburgers ready for the grill... take care and I'll be back when we return home! K
