the entry about nothing...

Another weekend has passed us by. Oh how I wish they'd double in length. Yesterday E and I had a baby shower for a high school friend. It was nice to see her (she's now moved to the Seattle area). She is due in November... that is when I hope I can time my next maternity leave. Being off for the holidays would just be awesome. Although I do remember the complete exhaustion and stress of a new born... and adding that to the busiest time of year might be challenging... but I still think that time of year would be nice. We are trying to decide when to start trying again. I of course would love to get prego around Feb 08. Greg really wants to go to school and we feel like we need to do one or the other. Then whichever we do not do in 08 will have to wait til 09. I just don't want my kids to be to far apart in age... so I'm hoping for 08. E would be 2 1/2 by the time the new baby got here... that is if I got pregnant right away. I did get pregnant the very first time we tried with E. I do know that there is no guarantee that this will happen again though... so I am being realistic here and know my holiday maternity leave wish may not come true. I also am going to have to have make sure I have enough sick and vacation time built up... because I'm not sure I can get approved for 90 days off, unpaid. I did find out though that my coworkers could donate time to me for maternity leave. I feel that this is an inappropriate reason to ask for donations though. So we'll see.

I did just check my work manual and I can take 90 days off, using sick and vacation time first and then the rest can be unpaid!!! YIPPEE for me. Plus since my hubby works for the same county I believe he can donate time to me. This might just all work out!

Ok, done with that now, lets move on. Today E slept in until 7! WHOOO HOOOO! That is sleeping in. G is still on his night shift schedule so he didn't come up to bed until after 4 a.m. so I let him sleep in. We had breakfast, cleaned up the kitchen and then decided it was time to break out the markers. Thank god for who ever invented washable markers. This is what happened when I left the room for a minute and went to the laundry room... she decided to taste the markers! Tasty!

E was very accident prone today. She got her fingers caught in the bathroom door, hit her arm on the cupboard drawer and fell and hit her head on our plush (but not soft) ottoman. She screamed bloody murder each time. This past week she got her first real bruise/scratch on her face. She tripped over the kitchen rug and hit her face on the fridge... I wasn't home... :(. She was ok though. Thank god.

Is this rain ever going to stop? It has been raining ALL weekend. Nice for a relaxing 2 days home, but it is also hard to be stuck inside the entire time. Even worse to keep a 1 year old occupied inside for 2 days straight. I suppose we could have played in the rain, but yuck.

I really need to get to bed, I started this entry hours ago... it'll say the time I started the entry at the bottom... but I'm just finishing it at 10:22 p.m. Tells you how many interruptions you get with a husband who has the weekend off and a 1 year old. Not much time for yourself! I miss that some days!!! Although I did get 2 hours in bed this afternoon, alone, to read my book and relax. Nothing better than that. Ok, except little mac n cheese mouth kisses :).

One more thing. I'm *seriously* considering becoming a Packer fan. Yes~ I said it... a Packer fan. The Vikings just suck. (Sorry T) I'm totally a fair weather fan. Besides, the Packers have Brett. He's hot and broke the all time touchdown (for a quarterback) record today. Here he is with his dog Samantha. Go Brett!

Sweet dreams. K

Oh I remember the days when we were ttc the old fashioned way and I would try to time things so I'd be giving birth right at the end of the school year, or right at Christmas. Didn't work out for us :). I'm sure that if you had no trouble the first time then odds are you'll have no trouble next time. And as far as waiting...I wouldn't wait. There's never a "right" time.

Oh, and I think Brett Favre is hot too. I like his gray hair!

Not only is Brett hot, he's playing with a smokin' team that is 4-0 now after an exciting, nail-biting game yesterday!!

Okay, totally NOT a Brett fan! K, did you forget you aren't in WI anymore??? We should have had that touchdown, the game would have been tied, and god only knows what would have happened next. Girlfriend, remember your roots! In MN! See you soon, T and little H
