A long story shortened...

Appt #1 - everything went well.  My NP had concerns that I was a bit (like 4 weeks!) further along than I thought I was based on the size of my uterus and the strength of the baby's heartbeat. She thought I was either 12 weeks along or had 2 in there.  ((scary!))  So she scheduled me for an ultrasound and for the gestational diabetes drink test. Num.  Since I'm "overweight" according to the BMI gods I have to do the test twice... once now and then again at 26 weeks.  

Went back today and slammed my drink... I was really excited to get to the ultrasound!  We walked into the ultrasound room and the tech informed me that it would be a vaginal ultrasound... I about choked up my orange drink... I wasn't prepared for that!  It was big, long, white and ouch... yeah... you get it.  

The ultrasound came back showing ONE baby. (Thank you God!)  And it showed I was 9 weeks and 3 days.  So my official due date is now September 12. She/he was moving, kicking... the heart was pounding away (164 beats per minute)... it was way cool.  The coolest thing they do now is give you a cd of the ultrasound pictures... she even recorded some of the movements and put them on the cd as a video.  If I can figure it out I'll post some here.

Let's hope the blood work comes back normal tomorrow.  I would not be a happy camper on a real restrictive diet.  No way, no how.
