a mish mash of stuff

Oh what a wonderful night (sort of) I had.  Greg worked last night.  My dad offered to take Ellie overnight.  So I had the house and bed to myself... with the guarantee of no one waking me up... ok, except for the cats... which they did... and then were promptly kicked out of the bedroom.

I got home, did yesterday's blog entry, put a pot on the stove to boil some water for mac n cheese... and then puked.  So I turned the burner off and went to bed.  Ugh.  I just hate this.

But yet this morning I feel really good.  It is so totally the opposite of last time.  Now I can get thru the majority of my day but by 5ish I'm done for.  Either puking or tired or both.

But enough of that.  I hate to be whiny and complain every time you stop by here.  So tell me to stop it!

So did you hear about this recall?

Simply potatoes shredded hash browns (and a few other kinds of their hash browns) because they found the bacteria Listeria in a sample.  The exact words of the newscaster last night, "this is especially harmful to pregnant woman as it can cause miscarriage."  I HAVE THESE IN MY FRIDGE!  And we were going to eat them last weekend when Greg's dad was here but for some reason we didn't!  HOLY SHIT!  Someone was watching over us with that one!  The feeling I have of knowing they are in my fridge and could have hurt me that badly just makes me sick.  Quite honestly I'm a little nervous about everything I put in my mouth these days.  What is going on in our country?  Food, banking, foreclosures, job loss, huge budget deficits in cities/counties/states.  I'm kind of starting to get a little scared here.  Are you?

One other thing I wanted to share.  I went shopping last Monday with my mom, sister and Ellie. I wanted to show you what it's like to go shopping with my mom.  (She obviously is doing her part to help the economy!!)And I drive a trailblazer so it isn't like the back end of this is small!  But I did have a stroller in there too... and NO DAD mom didn't buy us all that stuff, kay!  I promise. :)

And last but most certainly not least I have a surprise for you... wasn't sure I wanted to post it yet... but thought, what the hey... so without further ado... here is baby Kenny (don't ask me, ask Ellie... and no, we obviously don't know if it is a girl or boy yet... she just apparently likes the name Kenny?!)Baby is face up with head down.  You can see the little left arm and left leg sticking out... the small indents of eyes, nose and mouth.  And to think it was only an inch long for this picture.  A-fricking-mazing if you ask me.

Hope you all enjoy your weekend!
