Yet another fine day

Hello all!! Well it has been a long, long time since I have posted on here.....ok so I have not posted personally since I started the blog last year. Usually it is K that posts everything because she has kind of taken over and loves doing it. But, I am home with a sick little E and I thought I would post just for fun.
E is actually doing better today and has not been bad. She went to the ER yesterday after another long night of no sleep (for mom or dad either) and a long day of sick. The doc determined that E has an ear infection and gave us Amoxicilin to help cure it up. So K's dad got us the meds today and also got some liquid sudifed stuff and ran it out to me this AM so that E could start taking it right away. That man is simply amazing! He had to get going right away so that he could get back to work, but offered to come all the way back out if I needed a break from a whiney girl. That was a great offer and I would have taken him up on it if E had been like she was the last couple days. I am not known for my patience and I am greatfull that K got a lot of it from her dad.
Other than that nothing else is new. Oh wait, I guess there is some news on my side of things. I have been complaining to K that I am tired of being overweight and that my clothes no longer fit like they used to. I used to run with my freind B in town and we even did a half marathon. We both got busy with jobs and life and had gotten away from running. Well I had a sit down with B last week and we have decided to start running again since we are both sick of being lard butts!! At any rate we have also decided to make the commitment that in the fall of '08 we are going to run a FULL marathon. Crazy I know especially for those of you who know me. I am not the smallest person in the world, but I know with the right training and a strong drive to be healthy and less overweight, I can do this. Wish me luck!

no sleep... :(

Last night was awful. G went to bed by 9 cause he has to be up at 4:30 for work. I was up to late as usual. Around 10 E got up, crying and sneezing. She just wanted to cuddle and within minutes she was sleeping on my chest. I put her back to bed and she slept until about 11:45, up again rubbing her eyes, sneezing and wimpering. G got up with her then... we gave her some tylenol and took her temp it was down to 98.9 from 101.5 earlier that night. Another cuddle and she was out. I finally got to bed around 12:30... she let me sleep until 4. Was up crying again, this time it was a quieter cry... so we just let her stay in bed and she soon fell back to sleep. I heard her again around 5 and finally at 5:30 we got up had some breakfast and by 7 she was back in bed and has been there since. I'm finally having some peace and quiet. I really should be sleeping. But I am just not sleepy right now.

It has been so humid out!! I was so happy this a.m. when I could turn off the air and open the windows... I know the cats appreciated it to. Sounds like by Monday the humidity will be right back up there :(

Ok, I am thinking maybe I should lay down... take advantage of the quiet. I'll probably be back later today. K

Hi

Evening everyone... gosh it has been another long day! E and I got off to a good start this a.m. and left the house at 10 to 7... got to town and filled up my tank and paid almost $45 for a little over a half a tank of gas!! Ridiculous... and the price has gone down from 2 weeks ago! We got to daycare and E was giggling with one of the other kids and we noticed she sounded really congested. I went to work thinking maybe she was coming down w/ a cold. When I came to pick her up LA said she hadn't taken either one of her naps, that she was sneezing and rubbing her nose and eyes all day... poor thing. Then the mean mommy that I am, I made her come w/ me to visit my g-ma in the nuring home... just a quick visit and E loved it cause it was dinner time and my g-ma fed E all her lime jello :) Then off to get groceries... I made it home w/ a very cranky little girl... she wouldn't eat much so I gave her toast and a banana for dinner. I really hope she feels better tomorrow... she just looks like she feels miserable. She had a little bit of a fever and her eyes look all red and watery... my dad watched her yesterday and he woke up feeling the same way today so I am hoping it is just a cold and not allergies... to our cats!!!!!! I'd be SO sad.

Oh I have so many things I want to talk about... I'm thinking I may start another blog for more personal entries... if you are interested let me know and I'll give you the address... most of you have my email, or just leave me a comment. But I will not give you the address over the blog comments so you'll have to leave your email address.

Here's a picture of our new E carrier I referred to in yesterday's entry. It is actually really comfortable. If E is feeling better tomorrow I'll put her in it and take some more pics so you can get a better idea of how she fits in it.

So, I asked in yesterdays entry for questions... I've gotten one so far from Chas, she asks: What is your wildest memory?

Seriously!!! I may have to answer this one on my private blog!!! My parents read this one and they still think I am their angel!! j/k

Well I have 2 memories that I would consider wild (if wild/crazy go hand in hand). One mom and dad know about and one they don't. We'll start w/ the one they do.

I was in high school at the time. I think 12th grade. My girlfriends and I had a plan to go camping. That is how it started out. Then all the boys found out about it and thought they'd join us. Well as far as my parents knew it was still just gonna be the girls. So we went about our plan, going camping w/ the girls... we set up camp about 15 miles out of town. We were sitting around the fire talking... and here come the boys... and the seriously bad severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings! So we are getting a bit nervous about the weather, but seriously, we were 17 and there were cute boys there and so it wasn't the most important thing happening at the time. Well, according to my father though, the weather was #1. He decided to come out and find us girls and take us all home. (This was the time before cell phones!) The tornoado sirens were sounding, it was pouring rain... and out of nowhere I hear someone yelling my name. Within seconds I was thinking, OH SHIT, that sounds like my dads voice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, to say the least we drove home in complete silence... especially since he drove my boyfriend home to! God, what was I thinking?!?!?!? I can't even remember if I got grounded or not. I'm sure I did though.

Ok, if you are all laughing I'm sorry, but to me that was wild... I am not a goody goody by any means. Generally speaking I was a good kid. I did a few stupid things like the story above while in high school and college, but nothing serious.

The second story is a bit more embarrassing... but I was in college... this happens to everyone at least once... right?! I went out on a Saturday night w/ my girlies... we had a rip-roarin good ole time! We were walking home from the downtown bars and I had to pee real bad. So, what do I do? Yup, I just pull down my pants and pee in the grass... of a church. (Sorry mom, but remember, God does forgive our sins!) The worst thing was this church was only 2 blocks from my house and on Main street. Main Street!!! Yes I was an idiot. Never got in trouble, but I heard about it from my friends for some time.

Ok, I'm serious about this private blog... so let me know if you are interested. And bring on the questions! I know there are more readers out there!

almost friday....

Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday! It has been a long week. I feel like we are never home in the evenings until after 8, which is rough when you've got a 1 year old. Monday night we were home, Tuesday we had a Pampered Chef party (Love that stuff!!), Wednesday I had a haircut after work and then we had someone coming out to look at the car at 7 and tonight we went out to dinner for my grandpa's birthday. Whew. I worked last weekend at my p/t job and this weekend we have no plans except for a party Saturday night. I am so looking forward to relaxing and just hanging out w/ G and E.

I was just reading my fav blog sugarandice@blogspot.com and Chas, the girl who writes the blog, asked her readers to ask her questions... any question they want answered... I thought that was an interesting idea. So, if anyone reading would like to know anything about me, G or E... just ask.

We just made our first purchase ever on ebay! We bought a hiking backpack carrier. It is way cool! We were looking online for one at REI, Dicks sporting goods and other sport stores and the cost anywhere from $140-$200 and we thought that was crazy!! So I suggested we look on Ebay and we found a great one and put in the last bid at a whopping $27. Plus we had to pay $24 for shipping, but $52 was a heck of a better deal than the prices we were seeing at other places! We got it late last week and love it. E was a bit hesitant at first but now I think she thinks its pretty cool to be up so high and see everything.

Have any of you ever seen the anti-smoking commercial w/ the guy w/ the dreads on it? There is always a sign somewhere in the commercial that says whatthefxup. The campain is actually called WHATTHEFXUP! The first time G and I saw that we looked at each other and were like, how the heck can they show that on TV????? I understand that they are working for a good cause, to end smoking. But any 6 year old can phonetically say that phrase... which doesn't seem ok, at least to me. I just don't get it.

Another question to our readers... what do you think about universal health care coverage? Just curious.

J & Y

As they do every year, my aunt and uncle drove up from Ohio to camp at a local campground for 2 weeks. We love when they come. They drive this ginormous camper, that is really more like a house. It has a stove/microwave, washer/dryer, living room, dining area, air conditioning and is filled w/ every new electronic devise imaginable. It is huge. Cost more than double my house. Crazy. But we just have the most fun when they are here. They camp on the beach so we can go down and swim, although the Mississippi looked pretty gross yesterday. We usually just sit around and talk and grill... its a little harder to sit and relax w/ a one year old. But overall we did enjoy ourselves yesterday. My uncle always has some new contraption to show off to G. It is always something funny. Last year it was a metal hot dog cooker. The metal is in the shape of a man and you can guess where the poker comes out for the hot dog to slide on...

Well this year he came w/ a huge fly swatter that has an electric current that runs through it so when a bug is hit w/ it, it actually zaps it, it kinda sparks and is basically fried. G loved it. The silliest thing I've ever seen. But boy did it keep the boys busy. Does that tell ya something???!!!

E had a good time running around and playing w/ the other kids. (Thanks for the cute outfit auntie Mik!!)

E refused to take a nap all afternoon, so by the time we left at 7:30 she was out w/in a mile.

BTW if any of you know anyone who is in need of a vehicle we have one for sale. If you want any info on it just send me an email!!

New addition to the family...

Not what you think. We've adopted an "outside" cat family. We've had this really light cream colored cat coming around our house since we've lived here. Just the other day G saw her w/ 3 little kitten tagging along behind her. They are so cute! So we've been feeding them and giving them fresh water. They are so dang cute. I wanna bring them all inside. But I know I can't.

Our 3 little babies and their momma. Aren't they cute?!!!!

Fun in the Sun!

Some pics from the pool on Sunday w/ H.

Mac-n-Cheese

Wow, E has changed so much in the last 2 weeks. It is unbelievable. She has started walking everywhere, doesn't really crawl much now. She is more interested in copying everything you do and say and she will actually do things we tell her to do. She is in love w/ feeding her baby doll w/ her baba. She is constantly bringing baby to us to feed her to... She loves to give kisses, jibber-jabber away and eat. She is pretty much eating any and all foods. Some of her favorites are teddy-grahms, cheese and chicken nuggets. She is not enjoying milk to much... we haven't been pushing it, we usually will just give her water w/ dinner. Then we give her a bottle before bedtime that is half milk half formula. Well tonight we used the last of the formula and Dr. H says she should be done w/ the bottle by 15 months... so we will be on to milk for sure in the next month. The problem we've created is that she likes it warm... which is not easy when you are at the mall, park, pool, etc. So she usually just gets water. Last night we gave her a bowl and spoon and for the first time let her eat man n cheese on her own... this is the outcome of that...

God she cracks me up... for all the days I am tired, frustrated and just feeling like what the heck did I get myself into, kids are so much work! A picture like this makes me laugh and remember why I did get myself into this. She was worth all the back pain, cramps, puking, contractions and delivery pain. Well worth it. I love her to pieces.

I've gotta get to sleep... thank god for Friday's!!! K
