So Saturday night, for the first time in almost 2 years, we had E spend the night somewhere other than our home with us! We had a night free and were invited to a party about 5 blocks away. What could be better? No child. A party! And we could walk home! No drinking and driving, SWEET!
Sweet my ass. I apparently forgot that I'm not 22 anymore. I can't have 5 appletinis. Nope sure can't. But I did anyway. Nice job K. I did have fun. I think. (hee, hee) I guess I had so much fun that when my husband wanted to come home I didn't want to go. I stayed and got home safetly (thank god) thanks to my new friend Kt. Not exactly the way I planned our first night away without E. I really wanted to enjoy my evening with my husband. I screwed that one up big time! I'll know better next time. Note to self: you are almost 30... your body can't handle more than 2 drinks!
Just to tell you how sweet of a husband I have... even though I wouldn't go home when he wanted me to... which as you can assume didn't make him to happy... when I woke up the next morning he had already set a bottle of water and two tylenol next to my bed. I LOVE him!

Gotta love those nights out that are now so few and far between! My last big one was quite the doozy, too. After it (it was in December), I told my husband I didn't want to do a thing for New Year's Eve or my 30th bday in Feb...just wanted to stay home curled up on the couch. Yet, here I am, two months later and ready to go!!!

I've had a few nights like that too...and then I promptly give up drinking (until the next time). I'm sorry your night out wasn't what you planned, but now that you've tried having E away for the night maybe you can have another overnight date with your hubbie soon!

Tom and I did the night away from Ellie this summer and we spent all of it worrying about her and calling to check up. I guess we weren't ready. But I think we are ready now :)
