what's next? seriously... (&#%$@$*@(#)$*%#&@... sorry had to get that out

Today I thought I'd actually make it through my entire day of work... wrong. I just have had this gut feeling that something was wrong with E. So G and I decided that tomorrow when he woke up from working overnight he would take her in to the ped's doc and get her all checked out. I called to make the appointment today and they were completely booked tomorrow and only had one opening left for today at 3. So. Yup. Left work early. After being gone for a day and a half. That cannot look good to the boss. Not that I really care. But I do need to keep my job. My boss was out today to cause her daughter had strep. Oops. Hope I don't get blamed for that one! So I pretty much left without any permission... but who was there to ask??? And no matter what, my daughter comes first. Got to the doc and low and behold... E had an ear infection. She wanted nothing to do with him sticking anything in her mouth to look at her throat so he decided to give her an round of antibiotics with a punch... that way if she has strep too it'll take care of that also... and god knows whatever else she has. He's hoping this will end her 2 month long bout of a cold here, ear infection there, etc. He also wants to see her again in 2 weeks to make sure everything is better. That makes me a little worried since we've NEVER gone back in for a re-check after an illness. But whatever... dr's orders!

So now the fun begins. Getting her to drink a white, stinky, chalky and thick liquid twice a day for 10 days. Doc told me I could put it in an ounce of grape juice... pharmacist said mixing it with chocolate milk also works well. Anyone have any other ideas?

I can no longer whine at home. Says the hubby. So watch out ladies and gents cause it is all gonna come out here from now on. Here goes: my eyes are burning, my throat is hurting worse than yesterday and I am beat. I really need to get to bed, but have such a hard time doing so when my only ME time is right now! And the last thing I want to do is waste it sleeping! I know all you mommies know what I mean. This is probably why I get sick all the time. Not enough sleep and TOTAL stress at my job.

I'm starting to believe that stress really can take it's toll on a person. I have always been able to manage my stress at other jobs (or maybe the just weren't as stressful!) This one though is just becoming to much. I think that is obvious with how ill I've been these last few months. I've been blaming it on daycare so much... when in reality I should have been blaming it a little more on my stress level. I'm not sure how much more I can take. The owning our own store dream is still well alive but will take many many months of planning. So for now I am leaving my options open.

On to more fun topics! Our daycare actually does daycare e/o Friday evening from 5-midnight so parents can just get out and have some fun. They charge $3 and hour, so $21 bucks for the the entire night is super cheap! We've signed E up for the first time tomorrow night. I don't think we'll be out til midnight but the fact that after I get off work we can go out to dinner ALONE without sippy cups, spilling, bibs, diaper changes and whining (well maybe a little whining, hee, hee) is awesome! Then we might go to a movie or out to our fav bar for a glass of wine and to listen to their live music. I am so excited. This will literally be like our 2nd frickin date night since E was born. Ok, we may have had a few more in there somewhere. And for all of you who've been following along for some time know how NOT well our last date night went... we will not be repeating that! (There will be very little alcohol involved this time!) Then on Saturday morning I have an appointment for a massage... (G gave it to me for x-mas) oh how wonderful that is going to be. I can't wait to relax and be pampered. (My husband has NEVER in our almost 3 year marriage given me more than a 2 minute half-assed massage... hence the purchasing one for me!)

Ok, time for a little quiet me time. I'll be back Saturday with an update of our weekend! Hope you all have a good one!

I wish I had suggestions on how to get her to take the medicine, but all they've ever prescribed Lila is the orange or pink amoxycillin, and she loves it. I do hope this medicine does knock out E's sickness and that her immune system fights it all off for the rest of winter...it's almost spring...it's almost spring...repeat that!!

I know you're right about stress affecting your health. My dad has a super high stress job (ie. one that he could easily be killed doing on a daily basis), and they finally realized that after over twenty years at that job his health has been majorly changed by it. Keep your health in mind first...you can always get another job.

Have fun on your date and at your massage! What's up with these husbands not giving massages??? Mine doesn't give them either...and he doesn't make up for it by buying me a massage!

Chalky EWW! K always gets the pink bubble gum stuff...hope E kicks it! Screw work...what are you suppose to do? And I want to come for the wine...and the massage WITH YOU! Both sound like heaven...and you deserve a break and some pampering. I never thought stress affected me until I started have back problems last year...they did an MRI and there was NOTHING wrong..it was Stress..weird I know...
HAVE A GREAT DATE night and hopefully I won't read about you or G gettinginto a drunken brawl at the Woodshed!

the follow up appt is standard at our office. Mainly because ear infections in little ones might not easily clear up after one round of meds. So they just want to be sure.

I dont know what or why they prescribed what they did, but Emma's medicines have always been like bubblegum or cherry flavored. And they give it to us in a special bottle with a plastic syringe thinking and we squirt it in her mouth. She thinks she's getting a treat! Maybe your pharmacist can suggest an alternate form of the medicine.

Lexie my four year old has never liked any kind of meds. I have to spike her drink as well. Is there a mom or a relative that could watch E more often? My friends are lucky cuz they pay me to watch their kids. It seems that I always have one of the boy's friends or someone that needs a date night etc. The Mr and I rarely get to go out.
Oh and I wanted to add that I have never been as sick as I have been since Lexie started school, dance, and gymnastics.
