Greg emailed me at work yesterday and asked me to make tater tot hotdish today so when he woke up (he's sleeping during the day since working overnights) it would be ready to eat.
Do you make tater tot hotdish? Is this a midwestern thing? Well we love it here and I thought I'd share my recipe... (please share yours if it's different) it can really be doctored up to your liking so have fun with it. That sounded stupid... "have FUN with your hotdish!" :)
First I brown a lb of hamburger. Then layer my dish with tater tots.
I then mix these ingredients into a medium size bowl: one can of veg all, 2 cans of cream of celery soup (normally I'd use cream of mushroom - but my husband swears he can taste the mushrooms and he hates them - do you see me rolling my eyes :)) and one heaping spoon full of sour cream. then spread the mixture over your layer of tater tots and bake (covered) at 350 for 35 minutes... I will take it out and sprinkle a handful of shredded cheddar cheese over the top and put it back in for a few minutes (uncovered) to melt the cheese.
It's in the oven right now so you don't get to see a final picture... but you get the idea. Enjoy :)UPDATED: it just came out of the oven...
