For the first time in 4 days I am sitting up on the couch. May not sound like a big feat... but believe me, after the week I've had it's HUGE! Yesterday I tried eating a bit. In the entire day I had 2 pieces of toast, 2 small bowls of applesauce,a half a hot ham n cheese from Ar.by's and shared a banana with E. I drank water. Now today I've had a piece of toast, the other half of the hot ham n cheese and some fruit punch cry.stal light. I just made a bowl of easy mac and am going to see how that sits. I am actually hungry, which I haven't been all week. G just came in from hanging Christmas lights on the house and I told him I was craving a jr. who.pper. That is a good sign. I think I'm finally coming back to life.
Thank god for daycare too. Since we pay 2 weeks in advance this entire week was already paid for. So we sent E today. I do kinda feel guilty sending her when I am home... it's that mommy guilt thing. But boy is it nice to just lay around and relax... alone.
I can't believe I've missed so much work this week. I went Monday! Only! And now we have a 3 day weekend since Monday is Veterans day. So I will have had 7 straight days off from work. Wow, am I going to have a ton of catching up to do when Tuesday rolls around. Not looking forward to that.
Time to eat my easy mac. I'll probably be back later today. Bye.

sicko
Yes, somehow I have become the sickest one in the family. I got up this morning, got showered, got E up, dropped her off at daycare and went to work. About a half hour into work I started feeling like maybe I shouldn't be there. I was feeling weak and light-headed. I couldn't even get up and go to the copier comfortably. I called my dad to see if I could work out something to get Ellie home this afternoon, explaining that I wasn't feeling well and I needed to go home. He insisted I go to the doctor first. So I did. I felt like I just had the flu and felt kinda stupid going in for the flu... but I was also kinda worried about possible food poisoning. I get called back and what's always first? The nurse weighed me. I had lost 9 lbs in two days. I sat down so she could take my temp and I started crying. For one cause I felt so crappy and two because I had lost 9 lbs in two days! It scared me. Made me feel like there was something eating me from the inside out! Normally I'd be happy to lose that much weight, but not the way I did. My temp was 97.5. And even scarier than the weight loss, they couldn't find my blood pressure. They tried twice, with two different types of machines. Talk about freaked out. So Dr. M. seemed to think I had the rot.avi.rus. A nasty stomach flu. I do not wish any of you to have this. It is disgusting and awful. Dr. M. told me to start eating the "brat" diet. Bananas, rice, applesauce and toast. And only drink water. So, I came home, slept until 12:30 and have since been up. I've had a piece of toast, some applesauce and some water. I feel ok, probably cause I'm doing nothing... but my stomach is gurgling away... I don't think it knows what to do with the food that is in it. GAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH. This sucks.

ummm, ok
She's already stopped. I'm dumbfounded. Maybe I do just need to let her cry. And yes, 6:30 is earlier than normal. She didn't have an afternoon nap today.
help!!
Seriously. Can you anyone help me get my daughter to bed? She used to go to bed so easy. 7 pm. Now she just refuses. Screams. Cries. Etc. It is extremely frustrating. Especially since G is working nights. She is currently in her crib screaming. She has been down here yawning and saying nigh nigh. So I took her up. How long do I leave her there? It has been 5 minutes and I already want to scream my head off. A lady I work with tells me E has got me wrapped around her finger cuz I usually go in there right away (or within a few minutes). She says I should be strong and stay out so she knows who's boss and she will eventually fall asleep. This is SO hard to do! Help!
and NOW guess what?
Just when I thought there could be nothing worse than a sick child and a sick hubby, I was proven wrong. I got sick too. 3 sick people in one family. All at home. And one of those 3 people is a 1 year old who cannot take care of herself.
I woke up the next morning, after being put out on the couch, sick as can be. From about 6 am to 1 pm, I thought I might not live to see today. I don't recall EVER being so sick. I could have just slept on the bathroom floor since I was using the toilet every 10 minutes... but since I had to share with my sick hubby, that wasn't an option. So I ran from the couch to the bathroom about every 10 minutes for most of the morning. *TMI ahead* if you are easily offended skip to the next paragraph! I would run to the toilet, do my business then have to turn around and puke in the bathtub. I refused to puke where I had just taken a shit. Totally gross. But that was my morning.
G was sick still to. His started the night before at bowling. You know he's sick when he has to come home early from bowling. He seems to be feeling a bit better than me. He actually had the energy to feed and change E all day yesterday, while I did absolutely none of that. I LOVE him so much for that! He even waited on me, bringing me juice when I asked for it! He is such a goodh hubby and daddy. Sometimes I wonder how I got so lucky?? I could barely walk. I was so dehydrated that my legs and feet would cramp up each time I tried to get up. I was also so light headed I almost passed out a couple times.
This morning I am feeling a bit better. I still feel kinda spaced out and my back is really hurting. Probably from throwing up for hours. I really hope I can go back to work tomorrow though. Work is way more fun than this!
That's all for now... hope you are all feeling better than us. I wouldn't wish this nasty flu on my worst enemy!
Take care.

and now guess what?
E and G are both puking. Not fun for me. A sick child is bad enough. Add a sick husband to that and life can be hell. I am currently put out on the couch. I do not want to be upstairs breathing in all the flu bugs in the air. Ewwwww...
I have already called in sick for work tomorrow. Can't take E to daycare, can't leave her home with G. Yippee! A day at home with a sick child and a sick hubby, what can be better than that?!
She hadn't puked at all yesterday. I though she was feeling fine. I followed the daycare rules and made sure she hadn't thrown up in the last 24 hours and sent her today. Now I feel horrible. Is it my responsibility to call daycare and tell them that E is sick? So SD can inform the other parents? Or do I just keep my mouth shut and see if anyone else gets sick? I feel confused... what to do? I don't want anyone to be mad at me and think I caused their kid to get sick. E isn't scheduled to go back until Thursday so I hope she is feeling better by then.
I'll take any advice you can give me! I'm only one day into this daycare thing! Help!
Luckily I am feeling ok right now. I will be OCD with washing my hands tonight and tomorrow. I even pulled the hand sanitizer out of my purse and will be lathering up with that frequently! I do not want to get sick. Yuck.
Well, it is after 10 and I need to get to bed in case I am rang in the middle of the night.
P.S. we had a wonderful first day at daycare! I broke down a bit when I dropped her off, but she was off in a flash to the little tykes boat and was driving away. Didn't even give me the time of day when I said bye through my tears. Which I am so happy about! It would be so much harder if she was crying for me when I left. Instead she cried when I came to take her home. She didn't want to leave. How awesome is that?!?!?!?! I love it :).
Night all.

the night & day from hell
It began last night around 9 p.m. E's bedtime is usually 7. But each time I went near her crib and/or asked her if she was ready for nigh nigh, she said "no, no!" I thought she was just being a little terd and didn't want to go to bed. So I just put her to bed and left the room. She cried and cried. I went back to her room, picking her up from her crib and she proceeded to puke her lunch up all over me. *ALL OVER ME* There was tons... I didn't realize her little belly could hold so much! It smelled awful. We walked downstairs... all the while I'm trying to hold her, while she's screaming her head off, and hold all this puke in my hands so we wouldn't leave a trail from her room to the bathroom... I gave her a bath, took her temp (none) gave her some tyl.enol, put on clean pj's and went upstairs to rock her for a while. Eventually she was ready to go back to bed. Within 20 minutes I heard a weird gurgle and coughing. I new she had done it again. This time all over her sheets, herself and her baby. This time we just washed up with a washcloth and put on clean pj's. I put down a blanket in her crib for her to sleep on. We rocked for a while again and she was ready to go back down.
I just had a feeling that she wasn't finished though... so I decided to make a bed on the living room floor (since we have no safety bed rails on our bed) that way we could sleep together and if she continued to puke we were downstairs and I could clean her up more easily. Well yes, she sure did continue. She threw up about every 20 minutes or so until a little after 1 a.m. It was so AWFUL! Eventually she had nothing left and she just continued to dry heave :(. I was home alone with her, G was working an overnight shift. Lucky him. So after 3 sets of pj's, lots of dirty blankets, an empty stomach, lots of cuddles and a little Se.sam.e Street she finally fell asleep on the living room floor next to me.
That was probably the hardest night I've had since E's birth. I was so exhausted to begin with because the night before I was up until after midnight being sick in the bathroom myself. It was so hard to hear her gurgling stomach and her cries after each puke session was over. We all know how awful throwing up can be. It sucks. Imagine doing it about 9 times in about 3 hours. I was so sad for her. I wish I would have been the sick one, not her. I slept awful on the floor, besides the fact that she thought the entire bed belonged to her, it was hard and I was worried about her. She was up at 6:02. Yes you read that right. 6:02 a.m. After not getting to bed until after 1. Now, I cannot function on less that 7 hours of sleep. It just doesn't work for me. Factor in all the moving around I had to do to accommodate my bed hog of a child and I would estimate I got about 4 hours of sleep last night. I told G that today I felt like I did when I was 21 and went out to the bars and got trashed with my girls and hit an after bar and was up til 5 a.m. and finally crashed and got up at noon. Those were hangovers from hell. Today I felt like I had one of those, yet I had not one single drop of alcohol last night... or for weeks for that matter! Getting old sucks.
So today I was pretty much a blob of nothing. E slept from 9:15 til noon. Which was awesome. During that time I should have slept, but instead I washed puke covered blankets and clothes and I layed on the couch and watched Geo.rgi.a Rul.e. It was an ok movie. Nothing special. Made Lind.say Lo.han look like a slut. Made me think that is the way she is in real life, cause she played the part so well. I also watched Dis.turbia this morning. Freaky movie. Also just ok. G requested I make some oatmeal cookies for his bowling league tomorrow night... so I did do that. I have had an awful headache all day and have been nodding on and off on the couch since G woke up. E has been kinda grumpy and cuddly all day which tells me she isn't feeling like her usual self. She has kept down all her meals today though, so that is good.
I am so beyond tired. It is 8:33 and I have got to go to bed. Hope you all had a better weekend that E and I did! New daycare starts tomorrow! Please pray that it goes well for us!!

daycare...
I feel so lucky right now. We have found the most wonderful daycare! From here on out I will refer to her as SD. We went to visit for the first time last night. It was after hours, so there were no kids there. The minute we walked in E was all over the 2 & under room. She was playing the entire time, paying zero attention to us. Which was great! It made me realize that she is going to be just fine. She will enjoy playing with the kids and won't even realize I am gone. I am so excited for her! She is going to learn so much! Interacting with other kids, reading, crafts and they have a wonderful preschool program. I am thrilled.
I was so weepy most days this week at work. Just dreading Thursday evening when we went for our interview. I tried so hard not to cry multiple times at work. And I kept telling myself that I could not cry when we walked into the place or this woman was going to think I was nuts, crying over an 18 month old going to daycare!! But somthing happened when we walked in. E was happy. Content. Interested in exploring. And after the tour, questions and answers and lots of paperwork the last thing she wanted to do was leave. I kept saying it was time to go and she would look at me, shake her head and say "no!" We had to carry her out kicking and screaming!
Today I took off the afternoon from work and we all went to spend the afternoon at SD's. We wanted E to get a chance to play with the kids and feel somewhat comfortable with the place before Monday came. Well, silly us, that was totally not neccesary! She just ran right up to all the toys and kids and ignored us the entire time! I was so happy!! And I didn't even come close to crying once!!!
The benefits of this daycare are amazing. I don't have to provide anything what so ever, except diapers. SD provides wipes, butt cream, breakfast, lunch, snack, sippy cups, bibs, etc. I am so excited to not have to pack a diaper bag everyday! When LA was watching E I was paying her the exact same amount, $30 per day, and I had to provide everything! E will have her own bin there for an extra change of clothes and whatever she needs with a nap. And get this!!! They provide daycare coverage 2 Friday nights a month from 5 pm to 12 am for $3 an hour!! We might actually get a date night once a month!!!!! We are so excited. Oh... and you don't think it can get any better than that??? Get this... they also provide overnight daycare on New Year's Eve from 5 pm to 10 am the next morning!!!! Sweet huh!?!? We're all over that. Although I think E is to young for an overnight somewhere like that. I'd be ok with it at say... my parents or another family member or close friend... but not sure about daycare yet.
I am so tired, it has been a long week. I'm going to leave you with a few pics from Halloween. Our sweet little bug she was!
Of course she was up way to late...
She usually wakes up when we carry her inside the house... but as you can see she was still sleeping when we reached the changing table!
