thank goodness for today...

For the first time in months I have this feeling like there is a light at the end of the tunnel... for a couple reasons.

**First off with all the sickness in our house! Today Ellie kept down all her food/drinks and actually seemed more like herself. She actually played, laughed, ran around and we even walked down to the park for a few fun "wee's" down the slide. She was wiped out from the last couple days and fell asleep in my arms at 6:15 tonight!

I am finally feeling almost back to 100% and I know Greg is also. So I'm hoping in the illness dept we are done for the winter. This winter was the worst winter I've EVER had. I feel like one of us has been sick non-stop since November (coincidentally the first month we started daycare)!

This morning I was able to clean up the house, do some organizing and open the windows! To me opening the windows after a long cold and sick winter is the *BEST* thing ever! It was so refreshing and makes me feel so good!!

**Secondly I am happy to say that we (my sister and I) have moved a step further in our quest for our own shop. We have learned alot and are making some progress that is very exciting! Will of course give all the details when I am able to do so!!

**Thirdly... and the hardest to talk about is money. We have struggled in the past to stay afloat and the paycheck to paycheck bug is creeping upon us again. The gas prices are killing us with our 40 mile (round trip) drive into work everyday... Greg and I have very different work schedules so it isn't even like we could ride together and save the gas money. $3.46 a gallon is getting extremely ridiculous. And it is expected to go up!! We will not be able to keep up with tv/phone/water/insurance/cells/student loans/car payments/daycare/medical bills, (oh so many lovely, lovely bills), etc... if these prices keep going up. It is so frustrating. Plus I've heard that other things are going to be going up in price as a result of the gas... for example your loaf of bread or your gallon of milk... because it cost the milk/bread company more to get that item to the grocery store... so we get to pay the price. I've about had it with our government right now. We need some MAJOR changes to happen and very soon.

The only thing I can say good about this current administration is that they are giving us $1500 back of our hard earned money. Money that they are hoping we will use to stimulate the economy. Stimulate the economy my ass... we'll be stimulating the pockets of the oil moguls since using it for gas and other bills is what we're going to have to do with it. :( It sucks to be a grown up sometimes.

Ok, I'm depressing myself, sorry if I'm doing the same to you... this outta cheer us up...
Don't you wish you were a kid again? When all you had to worry about was what doll you were going to play with or what color crayon you wanted to use? No adult worries. None.

Off to bed. Ta ta for now.

I'm so happy to hear that you guys are all feeling better and that you have the feeling that the sickies are out the door for a while!

Also, congrats on taking strides toward owning your own business...that's terrific!

I feel so bad that Ellie was in teh hospital...I hope this is the END of sickness. We are scared about money too...I feel like we will be lower class soon. We need to be so careful at teh grocery store...after mortgage and cars are paid we have just enough for bills. I have no clue how our daycare bill next fall will work..GAH! I hope the gov does something so we can survive!

Glad everyone is getting over all the winter bugs.
Well, i know all about the cost of Gas. Over here (scotland) the fuel now costs £1.21 for a litre.
We went to Canada last year on holiday, and we thought, WOW, the gas is so cheap!
Ellie is very cute!
