Hi, hi, hi! I'm here... once again I could tell you how crazy busy I've been and this is the first time I've been able to sit down at the computer for any substantial amount of time since Saturday... but I don't want to bore you with all those details...
Something a bit more interesting... once again, we had E at urgent care last night. I went to work yesterday and she was home with G. He emailed me throughout the day to let me know she had a minor temp hovering around 100-101 for most of the day. She wasn't eating much. I got home at 6 and he had just given her some tylenol at 5:30 and at that time her temp was around 101. I took it again at 6:15 and it was 103.7! I'm like, ok, what the hell is going on with you little girl!?!?! So we packed up and headed to urgent care. We saw a really great family physician that I'd never taken her to and he was SO thorough. I loved him! He did blood work, did a throat culture, checked her out all over and wanted a urine sample sent to the lab for a uti screening. All these things that her pediatrician had NEVER done!
After 3 hours (arghhh!) we left with the determination that her pesty ear infection is still hanging out in her ear. She was given a shot of penicillin (thank god, I'm tired of trying to get her to drink her spiked chocolate milk) and had a pee bag attached to her whoha. We got home and all went to bed. G and I got up at 4 to see if she had pee'd in the bag... she had, so I took it off and he took it downstairs to do the dirty work. I changed her butt and she went right back to bed like my good little sleeper that she is. (don't hate me, but she is a great sleeper!)
I took the sample into the lab before work this morning and a nurse called me at work this afternoon to tell me that everything came back normal. Blood, strep and urine. They just want to see her back in a week for a re-check of her ear, sooner if she gets the temp again. I just pray that by Tuesday when we go back her ear is all cleared up and she is back to 100%.
Have I told you yet that I am sick of this being sick crap?!?!? Tired of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, seriously, what did you eat today?
please get well and stay well soon!
Bless her heart! (and yours of course) Here's to a speedy recovery!
I can't believe it! You guys are more sick than I am ...and being sometimes selfcentered (me)you know I am telling the truth! Glad the Dr was good....sometimes those urgent care ones are shady. Hope all is well and the fresh air helps everyone feel better!!!
Poor E! I bet that is just pitiful to observe. I'm thinking I should just have you guys come down and spend the winter living in my basement, so you can keep away from all that sickness every year! That is just too much!!
BTW, if you ever want a urine sample from a little one, this was recommended to me (and I thought it was crazy), but it works...have them sit on the potty, hold the cup down there, and turn on the water just a little bit...it's like it instantly makes them pee!
It is so hard caring for a sick baby. I really hope she is feeling better soon.
